Our Commitment to Sustainability

We recognise that bringing people together for our conference has unavoidable environmental impacts. While we encourage delegates to use public transport and rideshare options to minimise emissions, we acknowledge that event travel contributes to greenhouse gas emissions.

To better understand and address our climate impact, we have developed a greenhouse gas inventory of our conferences last year. This data now enables us to take meaningful action. In 2025, we will use these insights to help offset our emissions and make a proportional contribution to local initiatives that support both emissions reduction and waterway restoration.

Beyond emissions, we are embedding sustainability into every aspect of our event:

🌿 Reducing Waste & Promoting Reuse
✅ Reusable lanyards and cardboard name tags
✅ Minimising printed collateral in conference bags
✅ Recycling stations available throughout the venue
✅ Composting for food scraps and donation of leftover food

🚶‍♂️ Smarter Transport & Lower Emissions
✅ Conference buses to reduce individual car travel
✅ Encouraging public transport and ridesharing

🍽️ Sustainable Catering & Responsible Sourcing
✅ More vegetarian options to lower the carbon footprint of meals
✅ Reusable cutlery, tableware and crockery provided for meals and coffees
✅ Refillable water stations to eliminate single-use plastic bottles
✅ Locally sourced and seasonal menu options

🌱 Supporting Our Environment & Community
✅ Speaker gifts of native trees
✅ Partnering with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability

By taking these steps, we are actively working towards a more sustainable conference experience—reducing our impact and doing what we can to support environmental and community well-being.
